Short-term fellowships and residencies can be a lifeline for artists, human rights advocates, and scholars as they lay the groundwork for long-term stability. Presenters in this session are Ya Yun Teng, Program Officer at the Immigrant Artist Resource Center at the New York Foundation for the Arts; Nazanin Nozoori, artist and recipient of numerous fellowships; Zerxes Spencer, Director of Fellowship Programs at the National Endowment for Democracy; Shahindha Ismail, human rights defender and democracy activist; Jane Unrue, director of Harvard Scholars at Risk; and Achiro P.
